MAN UTD KUCHEZA NA BARCELONA PAMOJA NA PSG KATIKA MECHI ZA PRE-SEASON
Van Gaal was unhappy with United's gruelling three-week, five-game schedule in America last summer and felt it was too much for his players.
The Dutchman felt he did not have enough time to work with his players and United made their worst start to a season since 1985.
He made his feelings known to United's money men and this summer's tour is shorter, with the Reds playing four games compared to five last year.
They will kick off against Club America in Seattle on July 17, then play San Jose Earthquakes at a venue to be confirmed four days later, then Barcelona at the Levi Stadium in Santa Clara on July 25, finishing against Paris St Germain at Soldier Field in Chicago on July 29.
Significantly the first three games will be played on the West Coast and the last in the Mid West, compared to last summer's hectic coast-to-coast schedule.
United will play Barcelona and PSG in the International Champions Cup for the second successive year.
With the new Premier League season starting earlier than normal on August 8, United will be back in Manchester by July 31, with a final pre-season game planned at Old Trafford before the new campaign gets under way.
