Tottenham midfielder Gareth Bale has spoken about his disappointment of missing out on Champions League qualification.
"It was obviously great to sign off with a great goal in the last minute, but circumstances made it hard to celebrate," he told Spurs TV Online after picking up his latest accolade - the Tottenham Player-of-the-Year award.
"To play the way we have also but to miss out on our objective (Champions League qualification) is very disappointing."
ARSENAL
"It's 16 years in a row we've succeeded to qualify for the Champions League. We knew it was really important. For me it will be the second season in the Champions League," he told the club's official website, www.arsenal.com.
"When you play in the Champions League, you always improve yourself and it's better for competition.
"We are competitors and want to play in the top games. I really enjoy playing against big clubs like Bayern Munich. I would like to go further next year."
WIGAN
Roberto Martinez will make a decision on his future at Wigan Athletic in the next 24 hours after holding talks with chairman Dave Whelan on Wednesday.
Whelan told BBC Sport: "It was a very constructive meeting where we discussed all kinds of things - winning the Cup, our relegation, our prospects for next season.
"Roberto wants 24 hours to think about what is going on. He wants to speak to his wife, think about it, which I fully understand. We are going to meet tomorrow (Thursday) and Roberto is going to make his mind up whether he wants to continue his contract with Wigan or whether he wants to take up a new position elsewhere. Tomorrow is D-Day."
MALAGA
Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed he and his coaching staff are to leave Malaga, according to Marca.com. Pellegrini has been linked with taking over as manager of Manchester City.
