Summary: Forbes has compiled its annual list of Africa's wealthiest business people - here are the ten sitting at the top.
It has been a habit of taking African continent as the home of poor who can’t have their own income satisfy their economies but Forbes has changed this notion and named ten African billionaires in the World Economic Forum, early this year.
These African billionaires have got their income without any assistance from the developed countries hence making a new page of billionaires apart from the common American, Russian, Chines and Europeans.
Forbes has compiled its annual list of Africa’s wealthiest business people - here are the ten sitting at the top.
1.    Aliko Dangote
This is the most and number one African wealthiest with a value of $12 billion from Nigeria. Dangote originates from a prosperous family owning a cement company and also trading in commodities like flour and sugar. The man with a value nearly doubled that of Africa’s second-richest man.

2.    Nicky Oppenheimer & family.
This is the second most richest African residing in South Africa accumulating many wealth from diamonds to a value of $6,4 billion. The family also, recently owned De Beers, which Nicky ran, but its stake had been sold to Anglo American.
3.    Johann Rupert & family
A South African family accumulating from sports, particularly golf, has a value of $5,7 billion owning Remgro and Richemont. It also founded Rand Merchant Bank and has expanded successfully into the wine industry.

4.    Nassef Sawiris
He is a construction tycoon and head of Egypt’s most valuable publicly-traded company, Orascom Construction Industries, majoring in cement business and expanding into the fertilizers. He has a value of $5,5 billion,the largest stakeholder of technology firm Texas Instruments and can lay claim to being Egypt’s richest man.
5.    Mike Adenuga
He is the first of Nigeria’s billionaires to appear on this list, being successful by the age 26.Said to have worked as a security guard and cab driver while studying in the U.S, he has a wealth of the value $4,6 billion. His real fortune appeared after he found Globacom, a leading telecoms firms in West Africa. Adenuga also established Conoil Producing, one of the largest independent oil producers in Nigeria.
6.     Christo Wiese
He is the main shareholder of retail chain Shoprite with the headquarters in South Africa. He also owns a large stake in the Pepkor Group, which includes retailers such as Pep and Ackermans, making his value $3,7 billion.

7.    Othman Benjelloun
The Moroccan banking and insurance tycoon, inherited from his father’s shares in a small insurance company which Benjelloun later took over. His company BMCE owns a large share of African Bank and Benjelloun is also chairman of the Moroccan Banking Association having a wealth of $2,75 billion.

8.    Patrice Motsepe
He shares a similar source of wealth with many South Africans, mining.He began his career as a lawyer, making himself a partner in a largelaw firm.Today he is chairman of the African Rainbow Minerals mining conglomerate having a wealth of $2,65 billion.

He has a wealth of $2,5 billion making his fortune from the telecoms then formed th Free Egyptian Party. He has a deal of buying a stake in Telecom Italia.

10. Mohamed Mansour
He runs the transportation empire, Mansour group, which is spread over many countries with the brands such as General Motors and Caterpillar. He had been Egypt’s minister of transportation and himselfsitting on many corporate boards and is the chairman of Credit Agricole bank having a wealth of $2,2 billion.
