history, but now there is another way that underlines their dominance.

from their 10 previous title successes, Real also rank as the
continent's finest club in European Cup history if you base their
results in a normal league format.

on Monday afternoon, Real come out on top if you award three points for
every win in the group stage and knockout rounds as well as one for a
draw.

Real have lifted the European Cup 10 times in their history - including their most recent triumph in 2014
In this case the Spanish giants have 729 points from their 376 matches played - winning 221, drawing 66 and losing 89.
Real boast a whopping 164-point advantage over Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich - who sit second in this table of statistics.
Bayern, who have won five European Cups - their most recent in 2013, total 565 points from their 297 games.
The Allianz Arena outfit have triumphed 167 times, drawing 64 and losing 66.
Third on this list are Real's eternal rivals Barcelona with 508 points from their 260 matches in Europe's elite competition.
The five-time winners have won 149 games, drawing 61 and losing 50.
Barca
have won the Champions League four times out of the previous eight
seasons with two of their triumphs coming at Manchester United's
expense.
And it's the Red Devils who are England's highest-ranking club on this list - sitting in fourth place.

Five-time winners Barcelona are third - having won 49 games, drawing 61 and losing 50
Manchester United are fourth - having won 455 points from their total of their 243 European encounters
The Old Trafford outfit have tasted victory in 131 of their 243 European encounters, drawing 62 times alongside 50 losses.
United have 455 points - 51 more than AC Milan and 68 greater than Juventus with the Italian duo in fifth and sixth spot.
Porto
(325 points) pip their Portuguese rivals Benfica (313) into seventh on
the list with both teams having been crowned champions of Europe twice
in their history.
Liverpool
may be England's most successful club in Europe, with five victories in
the competition, but they're ninth on the list with 297 points - having
largely struggled domestically since the inception of the Premier
League.
Despite having never won the European Cup Arsenal complete the top 10 with 286 points from their 175 matches played.
